We love going to Wekiva Island. They have a good food truck, bar, and here you can rent canoe's or kayaks and head down to the Wekiva Springs. The water stays a cool 72 degrees all year round.
Derrick took me on his airboat on our third date - and it's my absolute favorite boat! If you'd love to experience a ride, Black Hammock does great tours on Lake Jesus - the most gator infested lake in all of Florida. There's also a restaurant and bar there as well.
There are tons of spots to go out in Downtown Sanford. Hollerbach's, Breezeway, Jailhouse, Celery City Brewery, and many more. Definitely a fun spot to walk around! Derrick through Madison's surprise 30th birthday at Henry's Depot - another recommendation for sure.
Perfect for family fun and kids!
This Chain of Lakes was where we had our first date. The downtown is super cute, lots of great boutique stores, bars, and restaurants. We went to the Cuban restaurant on our first date (link attached). But I'd definitely also highly recommend WAVE Sushi for any sushi fans. Some of my favorite, unique sushi options.
This will take you by Dog Island where Derrick proposed to me. We had been there before when he surprised me with a date night and cooked me dinner on the island, brought wine, and a kite to fly from our boat. Then when he proposed, we took the same route as the Scenic Boat Tour. Highly recommend this tour for some beautiful, unique views of Central Florida!
More beautiful scenic Florida with the natural springs, and the chance to rent kayaks or canoes!
Another fun Springs area. In the winter, the manatee's come to stay, so again you can rent a canoe or kayak, and see the natural beauty Florida has to offer. If you wanted to come down to camp - this is a great state park to do so.
We've actually never been here, but in honor of our gator hunting adventures, we've heard this is really cool to go to!
For those who'd like to walk around Disney Springs, a great budget friendly option.
