Port Gamble and the surrounding coastal towns of the Puget Sound serve as a playground for your wedding weekend getaway! Here are some of Shannon & Hayden's favorite suggestions for enjoying your time:
Port Ludlow Golf Course

Port Ludlow Golf Course

A course designed by Golf Course Architect, Robert Muir Graves that all levels of golfers will enjoy. You'll enjoy the spectacular natural setting of rolling fairways, abundant wildlife, historic logging stumps, and incredible views of the Hood Canal, Ludlow Bay, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. If staying at the Port Ludlow Resort, take advantage of the complementary shuttle to the golf course! Address: 751 Highland Dr, Port Ludlow, WA 98365 Phone: (360) 437-0272

Kayak | Paddleboard | Bike Rentals

Kayak | Paddleboard | Bike Rentals

Port Gamble and Port Ludlow are quiet, beautiful and fun places to kayak and paddleboard -- you may see some of the resident harbor seals or visiting porpoises along with spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains! Rentals are available both in Port Gamble at Olympic Outdoor Center and in Port Ludlow at the Marina. For more fun, rent a mountain bike and ride the epic 4000 acre Port Gamble Stottelmeyer trails from the Olympic Outdoor Center. Port Gamble trails offer everything from mild double track logging roads to steep single track. We include a map with every rental and will help you select your route. There are enough trails to plan up to 30 miles in one day.

Puget Sound Express

Puget Sound Express

Puget Sound Express Whale Charters operates a 4-hour whale watching cruise departing Port Townsend (located 40 minutes from Port Gamble) both in the morning (10:00am) and in the afternoon (2:30pm). The captain normally ventures towards the San Juan Islands in hopes of spotting a pod of Orcas, but will travel to wherever the whales are on the Red Head. Trail Walk / Hike

Trail Walk / Hike

Right in the backyard of the wedding venue, Port Gamble offers a network of trails that are accessible directly from the communal parking lots in town. Last fall Shannon & Hayden embarked on an early morning hike through the Stottelmeyer trails where they were greeted by a number of salamanders! Celebrate the excursion by stopping by Scratch Kitchen for a mid-morning Bloody Mary or the Butcher & Baker for lunch and a cold beer. The parking lot connected to Pacific Ave in Port Gamble is the optimal parking lot if you would prefer to finish your hike within walking-distance of the restaurants that Port Gamble has to offer.

Day Trip to Poulsbo

Day Trip to Poulsbo

Poulsbo's historic Little Norway is one of the Kitsap Peninsula's favorite and most popular destination for visitors of all ages and interests. Stroll down Front Street to explore galleries, museums, and shops in Poulsbo's growing Arts District or stop by one of several waterfront restaurants for a bite to eat overlooking the marina and waterfront park. In the midst of the initial lockdown, Shannon and Hayden ventured to Poulsbo one Friday afternoon for a much-needed drive around the peninsula . The trip was highlighted by a pitstop at the Poulsbo Bakery for one of their famous doughnuts and COVID-mask cookies!
