Ashley is Whitney's sister. Growing up there were no shortages of sisterly disagreements but they have always been very close friends. They share a lot of amazing, funny, and crazy memories which will definitely be shared over cocktails during the wedding weekend. If you are looking for Ashley at the reception she will undoubtedly be requesting her favorite song at the DJ booth or documenting the excitement of the evening!
Trent Kulchar
Best Man
Steve and Trent met during law school when they were both studying at the University of Calgary. They bonded over law books, baseball and the occasional beer during those arduous years, and have remained close friends ever since. Trent will be joining Steve and Whitney from Edmonton where he lives with his wife, and much better half, Jordana, and his daughter, Rae.
Kayla Staples
Bridesmaid
Kayla and Whitney grew up down the street from one another in Okotoks and were basically inseparable. They didn't see each other as much after Kayla attended University in BC, but if they can survive skate-a-sled (a terrifying invention which had all the winter fun of sledding, and all the summer danger of concrete hills), they can survive anything. Who knew back in elementary school and that Kayla and Whitney would continue to be close friends for life, and even get married the same year!
Chris Schott
Groomsman
Chris is Steve's oldest brother and will be travelling to the wedding from Yellowknife, where he's been living for over a decade. Always the adventurer, Chris often spends his summers prospecting for gold in the Northwestern Territories or visiting horse farms and race tracks. Never short on jokes, opinions or unique ideas, keep an eye out for him if you are looking for an interesting story or a sure laugh.
Kim Abbott
Bridesmaid
Kim and Whitney first met through Kim's cousins, Christina and AJ, who lived just two doors down from the Abbotts. Fast forward (quite) a few years when Whitney's brother Charles put a ring on it and Kim was welcomed into the Abbott family. If you are looking to get to know Kim at the wedding, a Sambuca shot will get her talking. Whitney is always there for Kim when Charles drops her on the dance floor (disclaimer: no Kim's were injured in this "dip gone wrong") or makes her eat chips alone. Whitney could not have asked for a better sister-in-law!
Ken Schott
Groomsman
Ken is also Steve's older brother. As a child, Ken often found himself embroiled in the sort of high-stakes disputes that arise when four unruly combatants (Steve and his siblings) are penned together in the rear seat of a Chevy station wagon. Forged in this crucible, Ken's decision to pursue a career as an officer in the Canadian Military had a certain internal logic; he already possessed a great amount of experience dealing with unreasonable people in seemingly endless disputes. At least he could now rely on the rules of engagement. Ken is travelling to the wedding from Ottawa, where he lives with his lovely wife, Cori, and darling children Adelaide and Harry.
