Forget the fact that Whitney helped open this hotel just over a decade ago. We would have recommended it to our guests anyway. The lobby alone is worth a visit, as is its restaurant, The Breslin, run by chef April Bloomfield. The neighborhood is fantastic, too (see: Eataly, Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop, Spin, Madison Square Park). If hipsters or night scenes are not your thing, though, then another hotel on the list might be a better bet. If they are, then ask for the Fuller-Bračić (BRA-chich) wedding rates and book by May 20. The rates are the lowest of the list. Single rooms with full beds are $99, and the gorgeous, spacious lofts, which have hardwood floors and, in most cases, bay windows, are just $299. No matter what room you choose, though, the $35 Urban Fee is mandatory. UPDATE: ACE HOTEL NEW YORK HAS SUSPENDED OPERATIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The funky Arthouse Hotel is the closest to the wedding venue, and to Central Park, and to Museum Mile, and to Whitney and Javor's apartment, of all of the hotels we recommend—which is to say that it's properly "uptown." What that means to us is that it has (almost) everything a downtown hotel has except the crowds. Ask for the Fuller-Bračić (BRA-chich) wedding rates and book by May 18. Note that the rates for the Standard King rooms and the Superior King rooms are the same. We'd go for the Superior, because we like light: the Superior rooms are on the street as opposed to the alley. If you're super sensitive to noise, though, consider the Standard rooms. Double Doubles are on the menu, too, for all you families and friends, and the hotel graciously waived the $39 urban fee for our guests.

How could anyone have a wedding in New York and not recommend The Plaza to their guests? Alas, we can't help you with rates—it would have been impossible for us to guarantee the required number of rooms in order to secure them. That said, we can suggest you book one of the Carnegie Suites for the utmost in comfort, glamour (think: gold-plated bathroom fixtures), and storybook New York. UPDATE: The Plaza is currently closed until further notice.

The Walker is a little art deco daydream of a hotel. In fact, it's so unpretentiously stylish and charming a place that we went out of our way to include it on our list even though it is over 100 blocks away from (but a straight shot up the West Side Highway to) the wedding venue. Otherwise conveniently located near attractions like The Whitney, the High Line, and Washington Square Park, it also happens to be across the street from the new campus of Mannes School of Music, where Javor got his master's degree in piano performance, as well as around a few corners from Whitney's first New York apartment. Ask for the Fuller-Bračić (BRA-chich) wedding rates and book by May 18. The rates are moderately high but still fantastic. They're also run-of-the-house, meaning they are the same for the Grove Queen rooms and the Bedford Double rooms. The Walker Terrace rooms, which amount to small suites, and yes, have terraces, are also discounted.

If you're begrudgingly traveling to New York City for us, then, first of all, thank you! Second, The Watson is the place for you. It's nothing fancy and in fact not much changed from the Holiday Inn it once was—the rooms are generic and inexpensive, spacious and clean. There is a Coke machine on every floor, and yes, an inclusive breakfast buffet every morning. There's even a non-fancy pool on the roof, smack dab in midtown Manhattan, with Hudson River views and all.
