My name is Candace Wells and I have had the pleasure of knowing Whitney since our freshman year at Norfolk State University. I thought it was cool to meet a true Georgia Peach. I’ll be honest and say that with us both having very strong personalities; we weren’t the best of friends initially (she was the sassy one.. hehehe). It didn’t take long for us to click after feeling each other out. These past 16 years have been filled with lots of laughs and an immeasurable amount of memories that we have shared including, but not limited to, baby showers, trips, bridal showers, weddings, birthday celebrations, etc. During our friendship; She’s witnessed my highs and lows as I have done the same for her. Going through all the many emotions of her relationships over the past years; I remember it being different with Alshay. Me being a long-distance bestie and not knowing much about him; I was definitely on high alert. Our first encounter was short but cool and pleasant. I realized that she spent more time laughing and smiling. I noticed she stopped being stressed and began to truly sound happy. My “selling point” was not only when she began to call Alshay Daddy, but the fact that he truly took on the role of being her father. My friend and god-daughter are truly happy and I couldn’t be happier for them. Their union has been beautiful to witness and I am honored to be a part of their special day. I pray this couple is blessed with a lifetime of love, peace, and happiness.

I am married to my wonderful, fun and big-hearted husband Steven and we have 2 beautiful, total opposite children, Morgan (mellow &sweet, 14 years old) and Steven III A.K.A Tré (rambunctious & witty, 10 years old). We live in Charlotte, NC by way of the 757 Hampton Roads, VA. I have known Whitney since the summer before freshman year in college (wow....has it been 17 years?!) We are all better know as SFAM (sisters from another mother). Where you find one, the other is not too far behind. Going through college with them made it the BEST 4 years of my life and I wouldn't change it for the world. Always here for each other through trials, tribulations, and triumphs. When I met Alshay, of course we all gave him a hard time because that's what we do to each other's spouses. Have to pass the test! Lol!!!
