Similar to many couples today, Alex and Lauren met through an app. Surprisingly though, it wasn’t a dating app. Lauren was selling some rock climbing gear on Offer Up and lucky for them, Alex was trying out a new hobby after recently moving to Las Vegas. They met in the parking lot of Town Square after work so Alex could buy the crash pad from Lauren. Lauren quickly noticed how cute Alex was and after a short conversation, they decided to go rock climbing together since Alex was newer to the area. After an afternoon at the climbing gym, a baseball game with Alex’s best friend, Sean, and a night out with some friends, Alex asked Lauren to be his girlfriend (just 5 weeks after meeting!) We can all thank Offer Up, rock climbing and Alex’s good looks for bringing these two together.

Alex and Lauren were in San Diego for Zac and Alicia’s wedding and decided to head out a day early to relax and celebrate Lauren’s birthday. Upon arriving, Alex surprised Lauren with a night at the beautiful Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. When they arrived, Lauren told Alex she wanted to order room service and go to bed early to enjoy their first night away without Madeline. Alex disagreed with the idea and suggested some wine and a walk to the beach.. thankfully, Lauren was up for it. They headed out on a walk to explore the hotel and watch the sunset near the Torrey Pines Gliderport. Alex led Lauren to a beautiful spot that looked out over the ocean as she complained the whole way that she wasn’t in the right shoes for a hike (lots of sticks, dirt and up hill climbing in her new white sandals). Once they got to the perfect spot, they took in the gorgeous views and reflected on the last few years together. Alex embraced Lauren in a big hug and got down on his knee to ask the question we had all been waiting for! After Lauren said yes, there was cheering from above from their besties Zac and Alicia, and a random photographer they had begged to capture the moment. They enjoyed some champagne, called friends and family and soaked in the beautiful views. It was a perfect proposal !
