As you all know, we've had a bit of a longer engagement than we'd planned because, well ... Covid. After all of the uncertainty, a lot of stress, several dates tossed around and then tossed out, and life feeling overwhelmingly out of whack, we finally made the decision to do a small wedding with some of our favorite people. The ceremony and reception will both take place at the Beach House we've rented for the week. Because we are SUPER limited on the guest count, early RSVPs are GREATLY appreciated (you'll even be able to do it right on this website). Also because of guest restrictions by the management company, we are unable to invite little ones and we ask that children under the age of 16 are left with a sitter. Please know that we mean no offense by this, and we understand that this may influence your ability to come. That being said, other than the wedding day itself all other events will be kid friendly should you choose to bring them and leave them with a sitter on the big day. We appreciate your understanding! We hope that all of the crazy of 2020 will be long over by November, but we understand that not everyone will be able or feel comfortable traveling. Our goal for the weekend is to maintain the health and safety of our family and friends. Our hope is for a feeling of normalcy, tons of fun, lots of love and an unforgettable weekend! For anyone concerned ... don't worry, there will be an open bar (requests are welcomed but not guaranteed) and James will undoubtedly get wild on the dance floor. We can't wait to celebrate our big day with you all!
It all started one September evening with one of those "Ok, fine, I'll go out for 'one' drink" kind of nights. Kelly had already had a super long week, and still had a long Saturday at work ahead of her, but after some arm twisting she agreed to meet her friend Lucy out for "one" glass of wine... At the same time, James was making plans with Lucy's nephew Tony, to go hit up the local dive bars and play some pool. Kelly's "one" glass turned into two making it easy to persuaded her to go meet up with Lucy's nephew, whom Kelly also knew, and his friend James for "just one" more. James and Tony were playing pool when the ladies arrived. We all hung out for a while, and after a couple of drinks James carefully positioned himself to take the game shot at the pool table. This meant bending over directly in front of Kelly... naturally, she did what any mature adult would do, and pantsed him. James played it cool, but let's be honest, we all know he fell in love right then and there. Kelly did eventually did have to go home, and James (being the gentleman he is) gave her his phone number and asked that she text him and let him know she got home safely. After a few weeks of texts and calls, and James refusing to give up, Kelly finally agreed to hang out with him. Kelly officially became a cougar and the rest is history!
