There are many great museums in Chicago (our friend and guest Kate worked at the Field Museum for many years!) but MSI is one of our favorites--check out the fairy castle, and of course baby chicks!
Chicago means pizza, and Lou's is one of our favorites for both thin crust and deep dish. If you've tried the classics, head to Paulie Gee's in Logan Square for Detroit aka Celia style, or Pequod's in Lincoln Park for their signature burnt crust
A giant outdoor farmer's market in the heart of Lincoln Park. Stop at Elaine's across the street for an iced latte and grab some fresh veggies, delicious baked goods or a gourmet grilled cheese from Gayle's for a picnic in the park! If you're lucky, maybe Gaga and John will help you pick your produce! Walk off your meal through nearby Lincoln Park Zoo, or stroll through Lincoln Park and do some shopping.
The Cubs are in town the week following our wedding--if you're able to stick around and catch a game within the friendly confines, there's nothing quite like it! Make sure to get your "my first game" certificate like Celia did last year!
Take a drive or the Green Line to check out this beautiful space where we get our green fix every winter! Perfect for a rainy day or something new if you've been to the city before--admission is free but reservations are strongly recommended online prior to your visit. For lunch nearby, head to Inspiration Kitchens for a delicious meal that supports the unhoused population in Chicago
A bit of a drive out of the city center for this Chicago classic, but worth it for the Superfries and thick shakes, as well as the carhop charm. Friend and guest Danielle would probably go with you, as long as you hold the ketchup!
