Her Story: April 2021. Becky reactivated her CatholicMatch account. Not long after, did a cute guy from the Midwest, with a solid mustache, who had similar hobbies, and his career and goals in order, show up in recent views. Taking a leap of faith, Becky messaged Wes and their conversations started to flow. They began messaging every day getting to know each other. After about a month, Wes took a hiatus from cyber dating and they each had time to re-evaluate their dating lives. 6 weeks later, Wes reached back out with his phone number and they began corresponding on a deeper level. October 2021. Becky and Wes met in Billings, MT where they had their first date hiking, talking, enjoying delicious food, and roaming around a fall fair downtown. A few weeks later, Wes drove down to Casper, WY to accompany Becky at her friends’ wedding and annual Halloween party. At that point, they decided to date exclusively. Over the next year and a half, Wes and Becky drove to visit each other frequently, traveled for vacation and fun, supported each other through some low times and made happy memories during the good times. March 2023. Wes and Becky flew to Madison, WI for his niece’s baptism. After family began traveling back home, Wes and Becky had that Sunday to themselves. Wes suggested they tour around the beautiful and historic capital building. When they were finished walking around, they stepped outside. His Story: Spring 2021: Wes had been working to take his dating life from dating to something that could lead to marriage. He gave up on blind dates with friends of friends and decided to give CatholicMatch a shot. Shortly after creating his profile, he came across Becky’s profile and the two started to message each other. They chatted regularly for a number of months and even talked over FaceTime each Sunday. Eventually, they decided it would be good to meet in person and progress things to another level. The two met in Billings, MT and had a number of activities planned for the weekend. Prior to heading back to Casper, WY and Bismarck, ND; they made plans to meet up again a month later in Casper. Things went well during that visit and they decided to date exclusively. Over the next year and a half, the two frequently visited each other and spent a lot of quality time together. There were ups and downs during this time, but they were committed to working through things and growing together. After getting stuck in Billings, MT during the Spring 2022 Blizzard and spending a week together in a car trying to make it back to Bismarck; Becky indicated that Wes had a timeline of 6 months to make a decision. During this time, he came to a conclusion, but more obstacles arose with a family tragedy and some changes with his work. Wes ended up accepting a new job in Denver, CO in late 2022 which helped cut the 8 hours of travel to see each other down to 4 hours. Fast forward to March 2023, Wes had made a decision and purchased an engagement ring. While at a work dinner in Denver, Becky and one of Wes’ work colleagues were discussing the topic of marriage. They both looked at Wes and roasted him for not popping the question yet, although he had the ring sitting at home and was waiting for the right opportunity. While in Madison, WI for his niece’s baptism, he decided it was now or never and came up with a plan on the fly. He decided to visit the Wisconsin capital building with Becky and after a few hours of walking around, he dropped to one knee while Becky was looking the other way. When she turned around, he popped the question and luckily she said YES! They flagged down some nearby people and had some photos taken.
