How We Met

July 20th 2019

We met through match.com. We agreed to meet at Coffee & Bagels, a fun cafe in Brookfield. We were supposed to meet at 10:00am, however Kerry texted me and said that he would have to come later. Which for me I thought he was going to cancel. We met an hour later than originally planned. After getting coffee and getting to know each other a little bit, we decided to walk over to Buffalo Wild Wings which was in the same parking lot as the coffee shop. After getting something to eat we are getting along so well we decided to go to Dave and Buster’s for drinks, games, and have more fun. Needless to say, Connect 4 is our favorite game! It ended up being three dates in one!

The Proposal

November 14th 2020

Kerry and I were in Oshkosh for the Fifth Ward Brewing Company 3rd anniversary party. It was my first anniversary party since Kerry and I had started dating. I knew something was happening because while staying at his parents' house that weekend, people would barely talk or look at me because they all knew what was going to happen that weekend and didn't want to "spill the beans" about the upcoming proposal. Kerry had to bartend at the anniversary party on Saturday, so Kelsey, Spencer, Rizzie, and I drove together and stopped at a bar that was on the college campus and had a couple of beers before heading over to the anniversary party. Our friends Marie and Joel surprised us early by showing up hours before they were supposed to be there. After a couple hours and a few too many beers Kerry decided to grab the microphone and make a speech. I knew nothing of the sort since I have never been to an anniversary party. I thought it was just customary for either Maurice, Zack, or Ian to make a speech and say thank you for all the support over the last three years. After Kerry made a toast to the Veterans and all of the Fifth Ward supporters for the past three years, my favorite song started playing in the background. I was the only one that heard it start and I started crying, I was streaming waterfalls down my face as I continued to cry while being surrounded by family and friends. Kerry called me up to the front in front of everybody and proposed with a ring pop candy ring which is totally Kerry's style! I couldn’t breathe so it took me a minute to actually answer him, and he jokingly said I need an answer in five seconds! After that I finally said YES!
