How do we get to the venue once we are in the zoo?

Answer

You will enter the zoo at the main entrance. The wedding ceremony and reception will be held at the Harper Event Center. There will be private trams available to take guests to and from the ceremony and reception. The trams will be available at 5pm and hold 45 people at a time. You’ll find the trams on the pathway in front of the aquarium. They will be running throughout the reception , so guests will be free to get a ride back to the main entrance at any point.

Can we walk around the zoo?

Answer

All guests will have free admission to the zoo starting at 4pm. When you arrive, you will just tell the employees at the redemption gates that you are there for the Johnston wedding. You do not need to show an invitation to enter. You can walk around the zoo freely until it’s time for the ceremony to start at 5:30pm. After the ceremony, you will be asked to stay within the rented venue space until you are ready to take the shuttle back to the front entrance. You just need to get a few dance moves in before leaving 😉

How do I get to the Harper Event Center if I want to walk around the zoo first?

The Harper Event Center is located at the back of the Zoo between the Asian Highlands and Africa's Wildlife Management Headquarters. It’s right next to the Stingray Beach. The link below will direct you to a map of the zoo. https://www.omahazoo.com/zoo-map

Where do we park at the zoo?

Answer

You can park in any of the Zoo's main parking lots and parking is always free at the Zoo. If you end up needing to leave a car parked in the main lots overnight, that is okay. The Zoo does have a 24-hour policy though, so the car will need to be moved within 24 hours of the ceremony.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Harper Event Center. The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be inside the event center.

Is there a hotel block reserved?

Answer

Answer

Braised beef with carrots & potatoes, French onion chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, pasta salad, house salad and dinner rolls. For dessert- red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, peanut butter bars, chocolate brownies and pumpkin bars.
