Jonathan had no idea that when he clicked on a web link to support and watch his parents on Daystar Television Network, he would be clicking on his future. When Rebecca walked onto the program, and her beauty, kindness and joy lit up Jonathan's screen, he was immediately interested – she could be the one he was looking for. So like a lion, he began his pursuit of the lamb. And even with time and distance between them, him residing in the hills of San Francisco, California and her living in the flatlands of Dallas, Texas, he opened the lines of communication through Facebook Messenger. After a few exchanged messages, Jonathan scored her number. Rebecca usually never carried on conversations through social media, but there was something different about Jonathan that she couldn’t resist. When Jonathan called her for the first time, and they talked for over 2 hours…she knew something greater, something deeper was happening. Before she knew it, they were talking twice a day on Jonathan’s commute to and from work, and with each conversation that took place their hearts began to grow fonder toward one another. Then 3 short yet long months later, Rebecca, alongside her best friend, boarded a flight to San Francisco, where Jonathan and Rebecca would finally meet for the first time. When Rebecca saw Jonathan in the airport, she immediately was struck by how handsome he was – his pictures didn’t do him justice. And Jonathan realized who he saw on screen was even better in person. After a weekend full of memories together, with their parent’s blessing they took their relationship to the next level and became official… and the rest is history.

While on an Israel trip together in late September, Jonathan found a secret moment with Rebecca’s dad Marcus, and asked for her hand in marriage. After receiving her father’s blessing, Jonathan wondered how to pull off the perfect proposal while successfully surprising Rebecca at the same time. After going back and forth between different ideas, Jonathan remembered Marcus’ big 60th birthday party was coming up in October. He instantly realized it would be the perfect setting to propose, because it would naturally bring all of their friends and family together without Rebecca growing suspicious. The night had finally come…. Rebecca stepped out into her backyard, like she had done so many times before. Except this time, it was transformed into a magical setting. From the perfectly hung lights dangling from the grand oak tree, lanterns and candles elegantly placed everywhere, and flower petals blanketing the ground. It looked like something out of a movie. Rebecca took a mental image thinking to herself, “this is what I want it to look like when Jonathan proposes to me one day.” Little did she know what was to come that very night. When all of her friends and family were assembled together to tell Marcus Happy Birthday. Jonathan pulled Rebecca from the crowd and led her under the tree…moving her dream to reality. He asked, and while in complete and utter shock, she said yes! Celebration ensued as confetti filled the air and everybody cheered. It was one of the greatest nights of their life, and so the adventure began.
