An easy start to the day, this short, half-mile stroll will take you to where the Cullasaja River projects over a cliff. A path lets you venture behind the falls without getting wet. An easy activity that will be fun for all!
One of the most popular hiking trails in Highlands is the short 1.4-mile out and back trail to Sunset Rock. The spot gets its name from the rocky outcropping overlooking the town to the east, offering a good spot to watch the sunset over the town.
Viewing this waterfall takes a little effort. You will need to hike slightly more than a mile over a moderately rough trail. The result, though, will be the viewing of a stunning multi-tiered waterfall, the tallest of which reaches 70 feet.
The Spa at Old Edwards is an incredibly popular and relaxing way to spend a day in Highlands. The Spa is open daily 9 am-6 pm and reservations are highly recommended.

If you want to get a panoramic view of the mountains above, stop at Highland Aerial Park where you can catch a bird’s eye view.
