We are getting hooked!

Our love story began eight years ago - I was a high school senior and Billy was attending Maine Maritime Academy. We didn’t meet in a traditional manner, we met 'online', and like any other first date, I was incredibly nervous. Our first date was at Joe Fish and I only ordered the seafood appetizer to split. Of course, Billy seemed to maintain his cool composure, but as time went by, he mentioned he was actually starving that whole night. The rest of Thanksgiving break was spent going on dates together. We hit it off immediately, bonding over our mutual love for the beach, adventures, and our roots. – including the night that we made s’mores in the freezing cold at the Donahue family Salisbury Beach House. Billy managed to some how melt his shoe and not the marshmallow. As his thanksgiving break came to a quick end and before he returned to school. Billy asked me to be his girlfriend. From that point forward our adventure together began.

Chelsey’s side of the Proposal: Once Billy and I moved to Charleston we realized how much we missed the New England seasons! Although we fell in love with the South and its ways of life, with its warmer weather and hardly any winter! Billy knows how much I love the fall weather and everything that comes with it- the pumpkins, fires, the lattes, sweaters… all of it. So with that in mind on October 2nd, 2017 on a beautiful day at Boone Hall Plantation we set out for a day of fall fun! I was excited to be out doing the fall thing and trying to pick the most awkward and perfect pumpkin. In the meantime Billy must have been nervous because he rushed me to pick a pumpkin. After I found the pumpkin he turns and asks a stranger to take a photo of us. The next thing I know he’s on one knee asking me to be his wife. Shortly after, his parents came out of hiding in the cutest disguise and embraced us both with excitement. Billy's side of the proposal: Chelsey and I had been dating for almost eight years; I knew it was time to pop the big question. After stalking her Pinterest for several months I finally figured out her dream ring. With a little help from my uncle he connected me with a jeweler where I was able to build the ring to be identical to her dream ring. On the day of the proposal, that morning I was up at about 0500 in the morning nervous as heck. I couldn't believe that after all the years we dated she could still give me the butterflies like the first time I met her. I knew at that point that it was time to ask her to be my wife. We are both so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in South Carolina!
