Jake and Tamara met back in November of 2014 while they were students at Iowa State University. Tamara had just started her exchange program at Iowa State and Jake was about to graduate the next semester. After many uncertainties and doubts, the couple decided to give the long-distance relationship a try when in May of 2015 Jake moved back to Minnesota to start his first job. They visited each other every couple of weeks until December of that year, when Tamara had to go back to Brazil. The distance got even bigger, 5505.29 miles to be precise. Between long skype calls, snapchats and messages, the couple had the opportunity to see each other only 3 times in a period of 1 year and 7 months. But every love story needs a happy ending, and Jake and Tamara had theirs when Tamara was accepted to graduate school at Iowa State University in February of 2017. Jake got a new job in Des Moines to be close to Tamara. And together, they decided to move in together in August of that year, because they had had enough of being separated from each other. March of 2018, The Proposal After living together for almost a year, adopting a dog and in the process of buying a house, Jake decided that it was time to propose to Tamara. Tamara had never been to a prom dance, and she had expressed regret that she would never get the experience. Knowing that, Jake recreated a full prom at a local ballroom. He tricked Tamara, telling her to dress up to go out to a nice restaurant. While Tamara was mesmerized with what Jake had created for her, he got down on one knee and proposed.
