We met at an iGo Global trip to Germany in 2018! iGo Global is an organization that equips and sends students on short term mission trips all over the world! Austin and I spent about six weeks of our 2018 summer in Germany taking part in the Great Commission together, and we quickly became best friends. Austin returned to start his first year at DBU which was about 35 minutes from where Hannah worked in Grapevine at the time. That was close enough to keep "hanging out" and eventually those "hangs" became official dates. Hannah went to DBU the following semester and the rest is history. ;)

I thought we were going out to celebrate Austin getting a fulltime job. Austin claimed he didn't want the attention of that kind of celebration (which is very on brand for him) and I thought I was forcing him to celebrate. Austin and I had talked about engagement and marriage and he had been feeding me an August/September date so I wasn't expecting it at all. We went to a restaurant in Trinity Groves and then he said he found an ice cream place for us to walk to near his apartment. Once we got to the place where Austin had our friend and gifted photographer waiting, he stopped walking, grabbed my hands and made me face him, and asked the question. It took me a solid minute to register what was happening. Then we went back to his parent's house in Rockwall where there was a bunch of friends and family waiting. I was totally shocked and thrilled.
