It was a cold Feburary morning as we paced, anxiously awaiting to start the police academy. As we walked to the gymnasiam in Sykesville, MD for our first day of training, our eyes locked briefly. “I remember thinking what a cute guy.” - Geneva “She’s gorgeous and the only girl that looked good in them hideous dickies uniform pants.” - David Then we immediately got screamed at. For three days. There was no time to talk between running, doing bear crawls or dying cock roaches. It was hell week. But those brief glances turned into stares. Those stares turned into smiles. And eventually we exchanged numbers and began talking outside of the academy when we could. It was history from there. We had to stay low key, as dating in the academy was strictly forbidden. But what’s a good love story without breaking the rules? We knew from the moment we started talking that God had a bigger plan for us. And we followed it slowly, at the pace God intended for us. And one day, when God knew it was right, He showed us that we were made for one another. And what a beautiful love has grown ever since. ———-
