The Wedding Website of Warren Curtis and Kelsey McKenzie
First Date pt. 1

First Date pt. 1

Adrian, MI

Warren attended Western University and Kelsey attended Adrian college when they started talking way back in 2019. Kelsey was a long way from home, as she was from Virginia. Warren, on the other hand, was only about an hour from the hospital where he was born. It's hard to imagine what had to go right for the two of them to meet and eventually fall in love. Kelsey almost chose another college that would have put her far from the mitten state. Somehow, someway, she ended up in Michigan and fate continued to pull these two strangers together. They eventually met on a dating site and the road to “I Do” began. After talking for a few months, they both decided to meet each other at a popular pizza place in Adrian, called Aubree’s Pizzeria.

First Date pt. 2

Adrian, MI

Warren didn’t know it at the time, but Kelsey made sure to be cautious and have her friend (and bridesmaid) Bri, sit at the bar just in case Warren ended up being a lunatic. They both conversed for an hour or so talking about everything from family life to college happenings. With a shy goodbye, they split from the restaurant and waited for a text message. On the way home, all Warren could think about was how much he hoped to see her again. When Warren arrived back home, he frantically searched his phone for a new message. *Ding*, and the rest was history.

College and Covid

College and Covid

Kalamazoo, MI

After our first dates, we both traveled back and forth between colleges so we could see each other. We went to school about 2 hours away from each other, but that didn’t stop us from making the long drive down 94. After 9 months of dating, we had an issue come up and that was COVID! Kelsey's school in Adrian closed its dorms and soon she found herself in an odd position, go home or try and make it the rest of the semester in Michigan. It didn’t take much time to decide that Kelsey would move into Warrens house in Kalamazoo and finish out the semester in Michigan. During those COVID days, we both spent this time watching all our favorite movies and shows. We found places to walk around and be outside and not be stuck inside every day. We both look back at that time and it was the best time in our relationship, it really helped us grow as a couple. Adversity not only helps individuals grow, but relationships as well.

Moving in together and Our cute family

Moving in together and Our cute family

Ashburn, VA

Kelsey graduated from college first. During that summer, Warren moved down to Kelsey's home and lived with her. Once summer came to an end, Warren had to go back to Michigan and that half year we spent separate until Warren was done with school. Once that half year was up and Warren graduated from college, we moved in together with Kelsey's Sister and her Husband at Kelsey's dad's house. We spent a year there, till we both decided that we needed our own place. We found an Apartment in Ashburn, Virginia that we have called home since. Since moving in together, we started our little family. A month into us living together we ended up getting a Mini Goldendoodle named Peggy. We then got two little Guinea pigs and we thought are family was complete. After having her for 3 months, we spontaneously went and got another Mini Goldendoodle named Captain. He is a big goof ball, that isn't a mini (he’s 55 pounds). Now our little family is complete.... for now.

Our Yes day!

Our Yes day!

Nokesville, VA

When we lived together at Kelsey's dad's house, there was a battlefield that was near the house that we would go and walk at every chance we got. After moving to Ashburn and getting our doodles, we hadn't had the chance to bring them back to the old battlefield we used to visit all the time. Kelsey had joked with Warren that it was a perfect place for him to ask her to marry him there. She’d be surprised that on September 10th, 2022, he would do just that. It was a perfect day, and our babies got to be there as well!
