Their very first meeting was disc golfing, where their friend Gavin happened to invite them both. They knew each other many months and became friends throughout that time before they ever had any romantic relationship. Flash forward to November of 2019, Patrick made a Facebook status asking who wanted to go to the Phoenix Bar with him. Heidi was too afraid to like it, so her best friend Taylor LOVED the message. Patrick reached out to Heidi, she showed up, and the rest is history. The Phoenix is still a spot Heidi and Patrick go to reminisce on their "first date" where they talked and laughed for hours. They have been inseparable since.

Heidi and Patrick went on a vacation to Las Vegas. On their vacation, they booked a day tour to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. The tour bus stopped many times throughout the day. Patrick was waiting for the right moment. He kept asking himself, "is this my moment?" and kept holding off. Just when he thought the bus was done stopping and was fearing he had missed his chance, the last stop of the day had the best views yet. Patrick asked Heidi to face the mountains at Zion for a picture, with her back turned to him. When she turned around, he was on his knee presenting a ring. Heidi was so shocked she forgot to even say yes! When he said, "so, is that a yes?" she said, "well duh!"
