Alexandra had an interview at Seasons 52, so she took a seat at the front of the restaurant to wait for the manager. Sitting on the couch, she watched as the servers changed shifts from lunch to dinner--and that's when she saw Luis for the first time. Walking from the bar area into a private dining room (the 300's/Carneros), Luis carried about 12 glasses in one hand. Alexandra thought, "Wow, that's a lot of glasses! And I guess the guy attached doesn't look too bad either..." Alas, Alexandra was working her way out of another relationship, and Luis would remain just a friend for some time. Until... Luis returned from a long trip in Peru and realized that Alexandra was single and ready to mingle. He started hanging around the hostess stand a lot more often and made sure to go out after work whenever Alexandra did. After a bit of a chase, in January 2015, Luis decided to finally make his move, and they were hooked on each other. In August 2015, they moved in together, and they've been inseparable ever since!
On Thanksgiving, Alexandra and Luis went to mass with the family in the morning as usual. Hungover and ravenous, Alexandra demanded food and suggested the family get Cuban breakfast. After being turned down by the family due to "plans," Luis suggested to go somewhere else and Alexandra agreed. As they drove toward the Grove, Alexandra guessed correctly--Berries in the Grove! As a restaurant they frequent on holidays, they ordered their go-to food and drinks, and got STUFFED. As they walked to the car, Luis suggested walking off lunch--after all, it was a beautiful day! Alexandra had no idea where Luis was taking her and was completely oblivious on the drive. She commented on the old trees and they engaged in normal conversation. Suddenly, Luis turned on his blinker and they were turning into Fairchild Gardens. Alexandra was full of delight, as this is where they took photos together for fun about 3 years prior. They began walking through the gardens until their reached a lookout area, where they stopped to look out and reminisce on the areas they took photos. Alexandra started getting hot and noticed a shaded area nearby. She began to pull Luis away, but he held on, indulging in the moment of romance. As she nudged them again, Luis said, "Okay, but there's something I need to do first..." He reached into his pocket, got down on one knee, and pulled out a gorgeous ring, asking Alexandra to marry him. To which Alexandra replied, "OBVIOUSLY!" Alexandra and Luis were blessed to have their family witness and record the magical moment from behind the bushes!
