¡Viva La DeFrancisco!

We met by chance, in PT school. Of the programs we applied to, it was the only one either of us got into and neither of us planned to go to. We owe the admissions staff at Washington University in St. Louis a beer!

I knew she liked stand-up and knew I could convince our friends to double date with us. We saw Chris D'Elia (pre-grooming, yikes).

We graduated from PT school in May 2019. Anna was planning to stay in St. Louis to work for WashU, and Matt was planning to pursue travel physical therapy. We did long-distance for a year, then Anna joined in on the travel. Together we've lived in Savannah, rural Mississippi, Des Moines, New Orleans, San Francisco, and now Austin!

If you know Matt, you know he can hardly contain his excitement when he has a surprise to share. In fact, when Anna took her board exam, Matt surprised her by hunting down her favorite chocolate cake that only seemed to exist at a single Costco in Kansas City, and had it shipped in. He had planned to surprise her with it, but in true form, he couldn't keep it a secret and told her about it 5 days before the exam. The engagement was no different! He had planned a Saturday out on the beach nearest to them in Half Moon Bay, CA, where they were to rent bikes, pack a picnic, and spend the day on the ocean. The ring came in on that Friday before, and he simply couldn't wait. That evening he dropped to a knee in the living room, and here we are!
