In 2015, Brooke moved to Lynchburg to begin her PA school journey. Her life was quickly filled with new classes and many hours of work, and a lot of pizza lunches at Vito's pizza place, Jojo's, which was just a stone's throw away from her school. Three years after she became a Jojo regular, Brooke ran into Vito at town-favorite Rivermont Pizza (the irony), their first time meeting outside of customer/owner roles. They started to chat and as conversation flowed between them, it was clear that they had a connection. As the night was coming to an end, Brooke asked Vito for his phone number and to let her know next time he was out with friends. She knew that she would need to find some new people to hang out with soon as her PA school friends were getting ready to move away from Lynchburg, and who better to help her meet new people than the unofficial town mayor himself! Vito tried to ask Brooke out over the following few weekends, but of course something always came up on her end...she finally met him at The Waterdog a month later. This night proved that their time together at Rivermont Pizza was not a fluke - they hit it off again and they have been inseparable since. Fast forward through a year and a half of adventures together to Thanksgiving 2019. Brooke was hosting for the first time and was scurrying through the kitchen preparing a meal for both of their families. Throughout the morning, Vito complained that he was sweating and lightheaded, and Brooke continuously told him to get out of the kitchen, as it was obviously hot inside with all of the food being cooked! Little did she know that he was anticipating his dinnertime proposal! At the table surrounded by family, Vito got down on one knee and asked a question that she had no hesitation saying “yes” to. This year brings more adventures for us and we cannot wait to start our next chapter. We are so excited for you to be a part of it!
