We're getting married!

Hinge really was the app made to be deleted! After weeks of messaging and mismatched schedules, we finally were able to make a first date. We met at Tanner Smith's, a bar in midtown Manhattan and we should have assumed it was fate because we both were early! There were still Covid restrictions in place, which meant we only had about an hour in the bar before it closed down. We ended up talking all night long and saw each other every day after for the next 3 weeks. It was magic from the beginning and we can't wait for the rest of our lives together and then some!

Steven has always been the master of surprise dates. He somehow managed to call my whole family a week before our annual trip to Florida to clue them in. On the actual proposal day, I went with my parents and sister to the beach while Steven, Preston and Allie "ran errands". Unbeknownst to me, they were scouting proposal locations on a beach at the other side of the island. All I knew was that evening, we had a date night planned where we were going to stroll the beach at sunset and then go to dinner. On the walk to the proposal spot, we were discussing our favorite vacation moments and times together. At this point, I was still entirely clueless to what was happening. It wasn't until he started talking about how special our love was and how we help each other grow and change for the better that I really clued into what was going on. He asked me to marry him and of course I couldn’t say yes fast enough! As he was giving his speech, I saw Preston taking pictures in the distance and couldn’t contain myself! I laughed, I cried, my heart exploded with love. We took hundreds of pictures and that’s when Steven pointed out the whole family down the beach waiting to celebrate. He had ordered sparkling rose and champagne flutes and we all toasted to the happy news! We're so looking forward to celebrating this next milestone with you all! See you in CT!
