Victoria's Version: I can definitely say that our relationship was something that started unexpectedly; and it is something that I will cherish for eternity! My friend Cynthia and I were talking one evening, and then we brought up the idea that maybe our future spouses could be in Christian Mingle waiting for us to join, and we laughed about the idea that maybe this could be true or not. To make the story short, that evening we both did a beginner's CM profile! I was skeptical in the beginning, but I didn't lose hope in love. Deep inside of me, I knew that maybe something good could come out of this, and I'm so thankful it did! Matthew's Version: I prayed and prayed as much as I could, and after some disappointments around my hometown, I decided to take "My Love Life" to a dating site where I could find the Lady of my Dreams. On 2013, My Mother told me about Christian Mingle, so guess what I did? I signed up for it! I viewed, and sent some messages, but in the end they were not for me. I remained on Christian Mingle for four years, until September of 2017 when my prayer was answered.

Victoria's Version: Just about when my free trial was about to end, his picture appeared, and I told myself "Hmm, handsome gentleman, I would like to get to know him." Just a few minutes passed, and he was viewing me from his end as well!! I got nervous, I felt butterflies like a middle schooler, but I told myself: " You got this girl!" We chatted through messages for a bit that evening, and then there was a pause of 10 days that we didn't messaged. After the 10 days passed, Matt reached out to me again, and this time we just couldn't stop messaging each other, and it's still the same up to this day. Something I'm always going to cherish about the very first time we talked on the phone is: Believe or not, as soon as I answered the call, Matt serenaded me! He sang a very special song called: "Never gonna give you up" from Rick Astley. He has reassured me a million times through out our relationship, that what he sang to me on that first call, it was a promise in which he has kept very well. Thank you Matthew! I can truly say that our relationship is one of the things I'm grateful to Lord for, because it has taught me patience (4yrs. in a long distance relationship is not easy), perseverance, kindness, and overall we have learned communication skills (especially on the hard days when you just feel like staying quiet, but you got to say what you feel and think, because your partner is physically far away from you, and he/ she keeps asking "what's wrong?!"). I really can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us as a married couple; I know that there are going to be a Gazillion hard obstacles in our way that we're going to have to learn how to conquer as a married couple, but I also know that there are going to be a Jazillion beautiful moments that we will cherish forever, and we'll just wish that time could just hold still for one more second, so we can embrace those enjoyable/beautiful moments. Please pray for us when we cross your mind.

Matthew's Version: On September 16th, 2017 I logged into My Christian Mingle Account. I then noticed a View and a Smile on my Profile notifications tab, and then I wondered: Who could it could be from?! I then proceeded on opening my notification, and I then noticed a Very Beautiful lady, who went by the Name of Victoria Alvarez Mendoza. Just by noticing and looking into her eyes of her Profile Picture, I just knew that this was My Lady to have for Eternity. When I saw the notification of this beautiful lady, I quickly proceeded on messaging her with a "Hi there, I hope your night is going great for you, how are you doing?" She then replied back with a "Hi, I'm doing good how about you?" I never knew I could feel incredibly excited, but also extremely nervous at the same time. However, we took it slow and messaged on CM for three days. On the third day, I finally made up my mind to call her on the phone because I felt an urge to hear her voice. ( Keep in mind, that I had asked for her phone number 3 other times on those first three days of messaging.) When I called her, I heard a very beautiful voice on the phone, and then I quickly proceeded on singing the song: "Never Gonna Give You Up" from Rick Astley. Unique, I know! But I sang it to her. After I sang the song, I got extremely nervous, that I couldn't breathe or keep my words together to make a sentence to get to know this Gorgeous lady. In other words, I was very Speechless. After she helped me calm down a bit, we then started to have a conversation that led to an amazing Friendship, and then after we talked 3 days on the phone, I then asked her if we could Video call through Facebook Messenger ( Thank goodness for this apps, because they have helped us develop great communication, while we are so far away from each other when not physically together!)
