Our story began and continues with a deep passion for Jesus. Growing daily and having life with life with our Church. Until we officially met and started to get to know each other by spending time with church friends. The church youth had this one dance game that was played and to randomize, names were drawn. Funny enough, me and Melanie would always draw each other’s name; even during a secret santa on christmas. It was those subtle signs that led us to grow interested in each other and in turn to grow closer. Skip ahead a bit, and we found ourselves scheduling a cup of coffee to get to know each other more (by then they were already praying for each other, but not together yet). A funny side story, Melanie actually prayed for me to get into a car accident as a sign, if I wasn’t the one. But by the grace of God, I got up at 6am and safely drove 2+ hours to meet with Melanie for the best cup of coffee I have ever had. It then became a weekend trend. I would wake up at 6am, drive 2+ hours to meet Melanie and have a cup of coffee. In case it’s not clear, I lived in different cities. However, there was no complaint on my end, only a tremendous joy as those hours felt like minutes. It wasn’t until a few amazing cups of coffee that I was given the greenlight to confess my feelings to Melanie. After multiple hours of practicing in my car, I met with her and nervously confessed my feelings to her. To the glory of God, she felt the same, and together we took the next step. That’s right, I had to ask her parents’ blessing to get to know their daughter. I was so nervous that I couldn’t sit still, and even hit a trash can on the way there. To this day, my car still has the scratch. However, it was worth it because I received their blessing. How was the process? Well, we talked over the phone, and read the bible together (I even moved closer). We studied scripture and grew together. Everyday, I fell more and more in love with Melanie. After a few months, I asked her parents to begin dating her, and though they joked with my emotions they gave us their blessing. Once a few months had passed, I secretly asked her father for his blessing to propose to Melanie. It was December 11th 2021, I drank 2 red bulls and was hyped up on caffeine. I was running around and putting everything together in order to create the perfect proposal. Although I forgot to kneel and actually give her the ring, Melanie said yes! Now the next chapter begins, and you are taking part of this amazing beginning. Thank you!
