Jocelyn and Victor met in 2018, when he helped her set up her laptop on her first day at work. He remembers thinking, “Wow, she’s amazing”; she remembers thinking, “I bet that IT guy is annoyed with me.” Fast forward a year and a half, and the two started going out to pub trivia with a group of coworkers. The connection was immediate and by February 2020, they’d started dating—just in time for the whole world to enter lockdown. They didn’t let this stop them and quickly settled into a routine of nights in building LEGO and watching movies, weekend walks on the paths around Reston, and dining on takeout from all their local favorites. Victor even developed a strong (and unexpected!) bond with Jocelyn’s cat, Strider. Over the four years they’ve been together, Jocelyn and Victor have supported each other through challenges and changes both personal and global. They’ve enjoyed trips to the Outer Banks, to Connecticut and New York to visit Jocelyn’s family, and to historic towns near DC. Their routine has varied, but always includes lots of quality time together, whether it’s solving puzzles, checking out restaurants in their area, teaming up in a video game, or making coffee together every morning. In June 2023, Jocelyn moved in with Victor into the house in Falls Church where he grew up, and they’ve added DIY home improvement to their list of shared hobbies. In December, Victor proposed to Jocelyn at Lake Anne in Reston, where they’d spent many mornings enjoying brunch at the nearby coffeehouse. It wasn’t a total surprise—she came prepared with a handwritten note saying “yes.” Victor and Jocelyn are so thrilled to be embarking on this new chapter and can’t wait to share their wedding day with the friends and family who’ve helped them along the way.
