My mom, my sisters and I took a girls trip to Waco TX. All of the hotels in town were booked for a marathon, so we ended up at America's best value inn. Cole was in town for work and they were also staying there. On that fateful night my sister Chrissy and I were sitting on the balcony enjoying a tequila drink. Cole and his coworker were also sitting outside having a beer. I said to Chrissy, "he's cute right?!" She says "eh, I'm not into beards" 😂 but that didn't stop me from inviting them over to us for a shot. Cole and I stayed up talking on the balcony until late that night (despite him having work again early). We exchanged numbers and they left the next morning back to Fort Worth. We talked for hours every day after that and he drove down every single weekend for several months to see me. When you know, you know.
We woke up that day and it was the first beautiful day in a long time! We made plans to go out to Lake Nacogdoches and walk around and enjoy the perfect weather. When we got back home we decided to keep our adventuring going and walk the trails on my family land. The dogs were enjoying the creek so much we stopped by the creek and just took it all in. He was behind me as I was standing on the sandy creek bed and I heard him whisper "I'm so nervous". Confused, I turned around and he was on one knee with a tear in his eye. He was holding a box with the most beautiful ruby ring I have ever seen, and he asked me to marry him. I was so shocked I just kept saying "REALLY?!" And then I shouted "Of Course!". A perfect day.
