Let's take you back to the spring of 2014. How classic - Devin and Venous met at a fun little bar in Medford, by the name of Raso's. I'm sure some of you have heard of it. Venous's sister, Loujain, invited her out one night; the Bruins were in the playoffs and Raso's was projecting the game on the big screen. Venous thought, "why not?" Off she goes, in a red summer dress with a cute belt and to her sweet surprise, a shy young man was sitting in the back, not knowing that he just spotted the love of his life come through that back gate. And if you're wondering, even years later, he still remembers what she was wearing on that magical evening. Of course, Devin didn't introduce himself that first night, but he did a couple of nights later. The two didn't meet again until that summer, down on the Cape. Venous bought Devin an ice cream on the vineyard and they listened to Devin's playlist that Venous really admired; she expressed her love for his taste in music. Devin sent Venous a song to listen to every day for the rest of that summer and the rest was history.
For those who know Devin well, he by no means loves the spotlight and he really doesn't plan ahead well. Venous set aside a weekend for the two to go up to the White Mountains one crisp weekend in October. Devin took the opportunity to pop the question at the top of Mount Washington; Venous had reserved the cog rail so this was the perfect place for a proposal. But to Devin's surprise and dismay, there was a snowstorm at the peak and the only view visible was the sign to the nearest restroom. As they began their descent, the clouds broke, the sun came out, and the view was spectacular. Just Devin's luck. He had a backup plan. The two had driven by Echo Lake on the way to the cog rail and the view was just stunning, so Devin suggested they head back towards there. Just as they hit the road, they got caught in traffic; an accident had just happened and just like clockwork, it began to pour. At this point in time, Devin seemed increasingly agitated and worried but Venous assured him that the rain would pass and they would still be able to enjoy the trail. They finally made it to Echo Lake and of course, the parking lot was full so he improvised and parked on the side of the road. He seemed determined to put this day back on track and so he did. He grabbed the camera and led the way onto a trail that looped around the front end of the lake, which had a beautiful view - the mountains reflected onto the water and the trees were turning into a breathtaking fall gradient. This was perfect. He finally got his chance when an opening onto the lake emerged and he asked to take a few photos. He looked both ways and the coast was clear but not for long because as he was getting down on one knee, a family of five was approaching and so the cheering and applause began and Devin's face quickly turned red but in that split second, he decided to go for it. Of course, she said yes. And immediately following that weekend, Venous booked their wedding venue.
