Thanks so much for being apart of our lives and helping us celebrate our special day! We are excited to share we are having an elopement-style wedding with our parents and siblings in Yosemite. We realize we are being pretty non-traditional with our elopement-style wedding and would be happy to answer any and all questions you may have about it! We feel so lucky to have so many amazing family and friends in our lives. Love you all! -Alex + Ams
We spent our first date watching back to the future at a Chicago Park. We drank wine out of mugs and talked through the entire movie. I still have NO clue what happens in that movie. We the spent the night talking until the early hours of the morning while eating Insomnia Cookies on a porch discussing important topics like Lightsaber duels, college, and quoting A Knight's Tale. That was it, he knew she was the one. #swiperight
Two years after we matched on tinder, I come home from my month long solo(ish) trip to Europe. Our anniversary is in two days, and I was already CONVINCED I was going to "win" the anniversary. I ordered and framed a custom made star map that was of the sky over Chicago with the date and time that we met for our movie night in the park date. Obviously, a huge win...or so I thought. I walk up the stairs to our apartment, open the front door to find Turning Page by Sleeping At Last playing, and that our living room is entirely different. He placed a shadowbox on a pedestal in the middle of the living room with "the post-it note" (for anyone who loves Grey's Anatomy like I do, you understand it's significance). I dropped my bags and started crying, moving closer to inspect it further and I see "I want to spend my life with you" with his signature and a line for mine. Assuming this is my anniversary present early, I cry more and start to turn towards him, and he's got the prettiest ring in his hands, I start crying even more as he asks me to marry him, repeating "Wait, is this real?" about a dozen times. I say a sobbing yes, and we cry and hug for about 20 minutes straight. For me, this was the PERFECT proposal and I never saw it coming. Obviously, he "won" the anniversary, and I was just fine with that ;)
We are so excited to start forever with our parents & siblings with our small ceremony in Yosemite National Park. This is one of Amanda's favorite places on earth and we are pumped to have a great weekend with our families. We will be hosting an 'I do BBQ' with our friends and family before we leave for our wedding weekend!
