Summer formal? No one really seems to know what that means but make of it what you will! It's not black tie and it's not a picnic... but whatever is the middle ground of that is the sweet spot for an elevated garden wedding. PSA to all the high heel wearers: do what you never do but always wish you did and pack those flat shoes to swap into come dancing time!

Is this a kid-free zone?

Answer

We are going to be a majority adult group so, unless your kiddos are on your invite (or still nursing), we kindly ask that you make alternate arrangements for a parents' night out.

How should we get to the venue?

Answer

Uber is pretty popular in Vancouver now so we'd recommend grabbing one of those or an old fashioned taxi! Alternatively, if you have a car and want to drive (and are choosing not to imbibe), there is limited parking outside/above the venue - if you are interested in driving and parking, connect with us as we can arrange parking validation! If this lot is full, there is an underground parkade underneath the UBC Rose Garden, a short walk down the street.

Do I need to pay for drinks?

Answer

We will be having an open bar after dinner (with champagne post-ceremony and wine with dinner), but if you are wanting to have something other than those two kinds of beverage before the open bar begins, drinks will be available to purchase.

Can I still come if I'm sick?

Answer

While this would be devastating news, in consideration for all of our guests and our venue, we do ask that in the unfortunate event you are feeling ill on the day of, please refrain from attending. There will be immunocompromised folks in attendance and we'd like to keep them (and everyone) safe!

Any tips for travel/stay in Vancouver?

Answer

The venue is on the edge of UBC campus, which has the Westcoast Suites a 10 minute walk away. They often have suites available there if you are planning a short trip just for the wedding. Airbnb would be great for those who are making a trip of it and spending some more days in the city. Please note, if you're booking an Airbnb, we recommend you confirm with your host that the booking is in compliance with the updated short-term rental laws in the city to avoid possible unexpected cancellations. Other hotels will be located downtown and you would have a number of great options to choose from (many in the Coal Harbour or English Bay area).
