"We are already overflowing with the love and support that we have received from each of you. We are looking forward to celebrating and seeing you all in Atlanta. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes. We love you!" - Carter & Emily
When studying at the Innovation Center at Mercer University with a friend, Emily met Carter. After shaking hands and walking away, she asked her friend "Who is he? He looks like husband material". Their paths continued to cross periodically in the years to follow. Mostly due to Emily's frequent visits to Z Beans Coffee where Carter works. Fast forward to August of 2020, Carter and Emily's path crossed again. Being in the midst of a pandemic and living two hours apart didn't stop the two from deciding to go on their first date. Their quick dinner date turned into 4 hours of talking, sharing about their amazing families, and aspirations in life. They both knew that night that the relationship had potential for great things. Despite long distance, COVID-19, operating a coffee shop during a pandemic, graduate school, working full time, Carter being a Yankees fan, and Emily being a Red Sox fan, God had his hand in their relationship the entire time. November 19, 2022, Carter got down on one knee and proposed to the love of his life. Thus the wedding planning began.
