On Monday, October 25, 2021, Mac stopped by Covenant College to see his sister, Margaret, and some old friends. But little did he know he would meet Vanessa, his now bride-to-be. Upon deciding to visit his former resident director, Hannah Leander, she invited him to join the resident assistant staff meeting where they all were playing games. At this moment was the very first time Mac and Vanessa ever met. Fast forward to March of 2022 when Margaret went home for spring break, and where Mac asked about Vanessa. Being the amazing sister she is, Margaret then went up to Vanessa at school to notify her that Mac had mentioned her (without his knowledge), and proceeded to ask if it was okay to tell Mac to reach out, in which Vanessa responded with an enthusiastic yes. After some friendly conversations via text, Mac decided to go down to Covenant to "see his sister," in which he also conveniently asked Vanessa on a date that same weekend. On April 23, 2022, Mac and Vanessa went on their very first date. Then a month later, after driving to Cleveland, TN to see Vanessa again, they decided to make things official on May 21st. Fast forward 8 months of long distance dating, Mac got down on his knee and popped the question on a hike where they went on his first trip to Cleveland. Now they are waiting in anticipation and excitement for the big day on August 12, 2023!
I grew up in the city of St. Cloud with my parents, Nanette and Wade Davis, and my two older sisters, Kirsta and Elaina. I spent most of my time either at the little league fields or at Bible Baptist Church, which have both played an influential role in my growing up. Some of my core memories and most impactful relationships have stemmed from those exact places. I grew up taking part in numerous activities, but in high school I naturally had to narrow down what I spent my time on, so softball took priority. After graduating high school, my parents and I moved from my home of 18 years to Cleveland, TN. Although that season was difficult, and saying goodbye to my sweet St. Cloud community was hard, I am so thankful God brought us to the mountains. I currently attend Covenant College where I have had the opportunity to deepen my relationship with the Lord and make wonderful friendships that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I also have had the honor of being a Covenant softball player and an Andreas Resident Assistant during my time here on the mountain. As I will be graduating this May with a Bachelors in Business, I will not be done with school quite yet as I have been accepted into the Lee University MBA program. I am very excited for this next season of life and to see what God has planned. I love Mac immensely and I am looking forward to meeting everyone who has played tremendous roles in his life. I am thankful he has had a wonderful community to lead and shape him over the years into the man he is today. To know him is to love him! Thank you all very much for everything you have done!
I grew up in the small town of Springfield, Kentucky, surrounded by family and farmland! My dad is a Pastor at the Springfield Presbyterian Church, and my mom works remote for a software support company. I was raised in church and at the local park's ball fields, always having my dad as a coach with mom and my sister in the stands supporting me. Faith was the central pillar of our household, where my dad led me to a personal relationship with Jesus early in my life, which was truly ignited in my early high school years through a great local youth group at the River of Life Church. I played lots of sports growing up, but baseball was what I really focused on; and going into senior year, I wanted to play at the next level, but also to get a solid Christian education, which led me to Covenant College. While I ended up not pursuing baseball at Covenant, I did play rugby, got involved with rock-climbing, and had the opportunity to serve as a Resident Assistant in the Andreas building (where Vanessa is an RA now). I love Vanessa very much and look forward to meeting those on her side of the aisle on our big day. Thank you all so much!
