Grab breakfast from Calders Coffee Cafe or Blue Bike Cafe and stroll down Main Street for great shopping. If you're feeling adventurous, cool off under Dry Falls or Big Shoals (aka Secret Falls). In the afternoon, explore downtown Highlands, ending at The Wine Garden for a drink and cheese board. If sweets are more your thing, treat yourself to some ice cream or candy at Kilwins!
If you are staying at an Old Edwards Inn property (including 200 Main), you can stop in for breakfast at Madison’s. If you’re into golf, get an early tee time at one of the local courses like the nearby Sky Valley Country Club. If hiking is more your speed, drive over to Panthertown Valley to explore “The Yosemite of the East.” Fun fact: Madison and I went to Yosemite National Park right before we got engaged in Carmel by the Sea, CA (and I hiked with the ring in my backpack the entire time)! In the afternoon, pick up picnic supplies from Mountain Fresh Grocery. Drive or walk to the trailhead for Sunset Rock and enjoy a quick hike with beautiful views. Grab a casual dinner at the Ugly Dog Pub or if you’re in the mood for a great steak, head to Wolfgang’s or Ristorante Paoletti.
