FAQs

Question

What is the venue like?

Answer

O’Connor Pavilion is located five miles west of downtown Estes Park, and backs up to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The facilities offer a wooded, streamside setting with an open meadow with a mountain panorama backdrop. Directly adjacent is Aspenglenn Campground, a well maintained site camping property. There is a wide open meadow where the ceremony will be, and a covered pavilion onsite where the reception will be held.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

During the day it will likely be between 70-85 degrees and the evening will likely cool down some so please bring layers.

Question

Is there cell phone service?

Answer

Nope. It’s very unlikely you’ll have cellphone service at the venue. It’s spotty at best.

Question

Will there be transportation?

Answer

There will be no direct transportation to and from the venue. There is a parking area at the venue however there is absolutely no overnight parking at the venue so please consider carpooling or delegating a sober driver to ensure no car is left behind.

Question

Are there transportation services in the area?

Answer

Yes! There is a free shuttle that operates within town. The shuttle does not go to the venue site so it will be useful for more tourist ventures in town. There is a ride service called Explore Estes that operates in Estes Park. They can be reached by calling 1 (970) 235-1156. This service can be scheduled in advance or on shorter notice. This service claims to book quickly so setting an appointment in advance would be wise. Uber: The short answer is no. Unfortunately, Uber is not able to operate from starting points within Estes Park, Colorado. You may take an Uber from surrounding areas, but you will be unable to secure an Uber to take you around or back out of Estes Park. Lyft: Lyft is available within Estes Park. However, only a couple of drivers operate in the area and they are not always in service, so you may not be able to reliably secure a Lyft to take you around or back out of Estes Park.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We want you to be as comfortable as possible. We are encouraging casual cocktail attire and a jacket or layer for the evening as after the sun sets it will be cooler. Please wear comfortable footwear as the walking paths are not paved and the ceremony and reception will all be held outdoors.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will update the schedule in a few months, so please check back for more details! Please please please don’t be late. There is absolutely no way to discreetly slip into the ceremony area unnoticed. We will do our best to be on time so please do the same.

Question

What is the bar situation?

Answer

It’s OPEN BABY!! We will have an assortment of beer, wine and seltzers. We will not be serving liquor. With that said we want to treat our guests to a drink on us however it’s important that everyone understand that this is a special occasion with family, friends and children. Please make responsible and forward thinking choices when celebrating our big day.
