How We Met

April 20th, 2021

We met in a way that's fairly new to the dating scene, we met through online dating. Tyler made the first move by liking Taylor's profile, then while she was looking through her likes she stopped and looked at his profile. At first Taylor was going to swipe past Tyler, but something stopped her and after a few seconds of thought she decided to like his profile back. After that a loving relationship started to blossom between them.

The Proposal

May 18th, 2023

Taylor knew that Tyler was going to ask her to marry him a few weeks before the actual date. Taylor knew because she helped him to pick out, design, and order the engagement ring. When the ring was finally delivered Tyler asked her out to dinner at Olive Garden. When they arrived at the restaurant Taylor excused herself to go use the restroom, and when she came back to the table there were two glasses full of wine waiting and a very nervous looking Tyler. Suddenly Tyler got up from the table, walked out in front of the table, got down on one knee in front of everyone, & asked Taylor to marry him. Taylor immediately said yes and they shared a heartfelt hug and kiss while the guests around the table applauded.

Our Big Move

October 14th, 2023

A few months prior to the actual move date my brother Justin convinced us, somehow, to take the plunge and move from New York to Missouri. We discussed the move a little further and fully agreed to the move, we wanted to start a new life some where new. In the following months we made the plans to get everything ready for the move, they were some of the most stressful months in our lives. But we made it through all the way to the week we planned on hitting the road and heading to the Midwest. On the day of the move it was raining, ugh, us and our moving helpers all got wet, but we finished packing the U-Haul truck without any trips to the hospital. We decided to hit the road later in the day to avoid traffic. Let me tell you, saying goodbye to our beloved family and friends was one the hardest things we ever had to do, there were a lot of tears involved. We had never driven anything bigger than a normal passenger car, so the act of driving a 15 foot U-Haul truck with an attached car transport trailer was a very daunting task. I did all of the driving because I had the most experience with driving. Tyler was the second in command keeping our beloved Beagle Jimmy calm during the trip while also providing snacks and drinks to me, and keeping family and friends back in New York updated about our progress. Because neither of us had experience driving big trucks and pulling trailers we had decided to take a route that avoid all major highways, which in hindsight was probably a bad idea. However, long story short we made it to Missouri 3-4 days after our departure from New York, we took a lot of bathroom breaks, food breaks, gas stops, and doggy potty breaks. We made it safely to my brother Justin's house a little worse for wear but ok overall.

Buying Our First House Together

June 5th, 2024

We had been living in Missouri in my brother's home for almost 6 months. It was great staying and spending time with my brother, future sister-in-law, niece, and nephew. However, Tyler and I had decided it was time for us to get our own house. We had talked about it prior to the big move, but we had decided to wait until we were stable after the move. By the time June came around we were ready to start our home buying journey. We first got pre-approved for a home loan and then contacted our realtor, who was and still is an angel in disguise, to start looking for our home. Tyler and I wanted a home we could grow our family in so we wanted a 3-4 bedroom home out in the country. There were a lot of hits and misses when we searching for our dream home, we even lost our first choice of a home to another buyer. We were about to give up when I found this house out in the country in a small town named Golden City. We asked our realtor to set up a time to go visit the house, she agreed. As we were driving to the house we were quite skeptical, and the closer we got to the house we were growing more wary. However, as soon as we got to the house it was like love at first site! As we walked around the yard and through the house we fell more in love with it. By the time we were finished viewing the house we were sold, we told our realtor to send our offer. A few weeks later on June 5th we signed all the paperwork to finalize the sale, the house was ours!
