Tyler and Lauren headed up to Northern Michigan for what Lauren was anticipating to be a normal weekend with family. On their way up, whilst chatting excitedly about their plans for the weekend, Tyler casually mentioned that he had a conference call on Saturday at 10am, so they would need to do their hike with the dog early that morning. One of their favorite things to do was hike the Leelanau State Park with their dog. At around 8:30 am on Saturday, Lauren arose, and threw on some warm layers. Tyler had been chatting with Lauren's family. It was around 9:00 am and a cold 17 degrees when they headed out. They started their trek through the woods. Zeppelin was in his element, excitedly wagging his tail while stopping to sniff the array of Northern Michigan scents.  It was so still and quiet on that winter morning with a crisp, toe-tingling chill in the air. It was beautiful. When they neared the dunes, Tyler took off ahead of Lauren running. When Lauren got to the top of the hill and saw Tyler down on one knee in front of the dunes she froze, trying to make sense of it all. Was this really happening? He simply said “I love you, will you marry me?" She said of course, threw her arms around him and cried. They both took it all in and celebrated, just the two of them, with Zeppelin, on the dunes. No video was captured. It was just a pure moment; the two of them alone on the sand dunes overlooking Lake Michigan; A moment they would remember forever.  When they rounded the corner to the driveway, they were greeted with a directional sign that said "This Way to Happily Ever After". Lauren saw movement at the doorway and quickly realized both of her brothers were there, as well as Tylers brothers, his parents, her best friend, Isabella and Tylers best friend, Dan! There was a delicious lunch prepared and lots of pictures were taken. It was all a wonderful surprise and went down as the best day that they could have ever imagined.
