He remembers her orders at every restaurant and she says all the things out loud that he was already thinking. Everyday they choose each other on this journey called life. Continuing to grow as they raise their beautiful daughter together. It's only up from here!

I got invited to a mutual friend's cookout. I wasn't even going to go, but my friends talked me into it. Plus, who doesn't like free food. I was introduced to Elijah and his sister Amanda. I remember he was in sweats like he had just come from the gym. We all made small talk as people who have just met usually do and bonded on our love of Harry Potter that was playing in the background. Then Elijah suggests that we should all play a game of pool. He loudly exclaims "She's on my team!" referring to me. I think he was surprised that I wasn't completely trash on the table. I didn't know at the time how much he loved pool. After a game I migrated upstairs to mingle with the rest of the guests. It wasn't until I was about to leave that Elijah asked for my number to set up a date. I was confused. He didn't say much to me the whole time. I just stood there looking at him. Then, I heard a little voice in my head “Girl, give that man your number. You’ll never have different if you don’t try different”. So I did!

I was at a birthday cookout for my friend Ross. Shortly after the cookout started, I noticed Brittany walking in with Ross’s girlfriend. Brittany stood out immediately, especially since everyone was in lounge wear and she was fully dressed. I was automatically drawn to her beauty and fun personality. We went to the pool table and I made sure she was on my team, quite loudly I might add. We briefly talked about Harry Potter and I noticed that she was a decent shot on the pool table. After that I lost sight of her for a while until later that night in the kitchen. Brittany was already in conversation with other people so I wasn’t able to speak to her any further. I asked Ross some additional information about her and found out she was single! At the end of the night, she made her way around the room to say her goodbyes. When she made it to me, I gave her a hug and told her I would like to know more about her and then asked for her number. She looked surprised, but she gave me her number and the rest is history…

A couple of months before Elijah proposed he needed to get the size of Brittany’s ring finger. He could have simply asked her mother for the information, but decided to take her favorite ring that she wore on her opposite ring finger for reference. Brittany searched desperately for the ring for a day or two but eventually let it go thinking it was lost forever. Elijah decided to propose to Brittany at her 30th birthday dinner. Her mother was already in town and her siblings came in town as well to celebrate her. Luckily, he was able to see her father in person and ask for her hand the weekend prior. Elijah made reservations at Bistro Niko and decorated the table with candles and rose petals. He gave the missing ring to the hostess and told her to bring it to the table and ask anyone if they lost a ring. When Brittany saw the ring she was completely confused as to why the hostess had it after all that time. Elijah told her that he took the ring so that he could exchange it for a better one. He knelt and asked her to marry him and she said yes!
