Travel Note

Airports & Train Stations

Norfolk International Airport (ORF) - Easiest & best airport to fly into. It's about 20 minutes by car/cab/rideshare to downtown, where the wedding, hotel, and all festivities will be. Richmond International Airport (RIC) - About an hour and a half drive, you would definitely need to rent a car to get from the airport to Norfolk. If you choose to take the train from Richmond, the Staples Mill Amtrak Station is about a 30 minute drive from the airport. There are no direct trains to Norfolk from Main Street Station in Richmond (Emily would kill for one, if you have any ins at Amtrak) DC-Area Airports: Reagan National (DCA) - better connected to public transit, can take the metro into Union Station in DC and train down to Norfolk Dulles International Airport (IAD) - More hectic, more expensive, farther away and overall worse than DCA, don't do it. Baltimore International Airport (BWI) - why are you going to maryland. Just fly into ORF I promise you it's easiest. Train stations: The Norfolk Amtrak station is about a 5 minute drive to the hotel & library. If you really really wanted to walk it, it would take you about 25 minutes, but the walking trail is a gravely road under an overpass that floods, and would be tough on suitcases. From DC (Union Station) to Norfolk is about a 5 hour ride From Richmond (Staples Mill) to Norfolk is about a 2 hour ride
