As some of you might know, our story began a bit earlier than most...believe it or not, we met as first grade classmates. We became friends when Chris decided to chase Amanda and her friend Sonnie one day during recess. Little did we know that seemingly random game of chase would lay the path for our eventual walk down the aisle! With our families living a street away from each other, our occasional chase sessions grew into a casual friendship. This friendship would continue through elementary school, middle school and even high school through our shared group of friends...many of which will be standing next to us on our special day! This theme remained consistent as fate would continue to find a way to bring us together no matter what phase of life we found ourselves in. After graduating high school Amanda went off to UC Santa Barbra to run Track & Field, while Chris went to Cal State Fullerton to study Engineering. We would continue to run into each other at our friends seasonal parties or even a few times at UCSB when Chris was visiting his friends. Fast forward four years and a couple degrees and we found our selves living back at home with our parents searching for the next chapters of our lives. Fate again brought us together at a friend's Christmas party, but this time it wouldn't let us forget...as we would eventually share our first kiss later that evening. After a few dates we decided to give this friendship we shared for so long a different title. Our young relationship would face its first real challenge in the form of Amanda's acceptance into Bastyr's School of Naturopathic Medicine down in San Diego. After a few months of medium-distance dating, the stars would again align as Chris was offered an Engineering position in north county San Diego. A place that would foster our love and a blessing we have been able to call home for the past 8 years. After a couple years and a few more degrees for Amanda, Chris decided it was time to give our relationship a new title. Just before sunset on the evening of May 24th, fate again would find a way to intervene as Chris prepared to propose to Amanda. It was on our favorite walkway down to the beach in our hometown of Cardiff and as Chris was searching for the best opportunity to initiate the all-important question, he looked down and noticed something unexpected in a group of custom engraved pavers bordering the walkway. One paver in particular was engraved with the following, "Our wedding was many years ago. The celebration continues to this day - Amanda & Chris 7/14/07" Needless to say, she said "YES" as the groups of people enjoying their meals and sneakily watching us outside the nearby pizza joint cheered and applauded...and the rest is history! We truly appreciate all of your love and support over the last eight years and are so grateful to share an evening of love, fun, food and dancing - which none of us will ever forget! Amanda & Chris
