Our first date was at a cookout which was for residents who lived in the local townhomes. Trip and I were the youngest people there by at least 20 years. I prepared a homemade coconut pie which turned out to be an all-time-hit! Folks there assumed we were married so they kept asking, "Did your wife make this delicious pie?" "We want her recipe!" Trip decided to go along with it and said "Why yes! My wife did make that pie; I'm so glad you like it!" Little did he and I know that pie would bring us together forever! Never underestimate a good recipe!

While Trip was attending grad school in Maryland, he finally purchased a sailboat. During the summer we would take the boat out on the water in Edgewater, MD. One morning, Trip woke me up ready to go sailing and he already had everything ready (cooler, car packed, dogs ready). We arrived to the marina and got underway and I remember thinking it was a little peculiar we were listening to all these love songs. We eventually anchored and walked to the shore. At that moment Trip got down on one knee and proposed. Of course I said YES! We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone in Saint Michaels!
