Picture it: New Year’s Eve, 2016. Trevor was visiting New York to celebrate his hard-earned bachelor's degree. Andrew was home relaxing in New York after visiting family in California. Trevor was on a mission: to see as many Broadway shows as possible, eat like a local, and party. Originally slated to stay in an empty apartment on the Upper East Side, a comedy of errors caused him to crash with a friend in Harlem (thanks, Yasmin!). That morning, Trevor stumbled into a coffee shop and opened [redacted dating app] to check out the boys and get a recommendation for the best bagel in the city. A cutie caught his eye, “Hey there, good morning,” Trevor wrote to Andrew. The conversation was casual and shifted to the main goal, a bagel. It was decided; they would meet at Absolute Bagel. “What’s the worst that could happen?” they thought. If they didn’t click, they would each get bagels and go their separate ways. But something unexpected happened: the impromptu breakfast went on for two hours. They exchanged numbers, and parted ways for their New Year's Eve plans promising to stay in touch. Later that night, they both coincidentally ended up in Williamsburg. Trevor, at a weird lesbian party (thanks, Yasmin!) and Andrew with some friends at Metropolitan. It was 11:45 PM. Trevor felt out of place and Andrew invited him to the bar. Trevor jumped in an Uber, and Andrew met him with a hug and a glass of champagne. He arrived just in time; the clock struck midnight and they had their first kiss. They were inseparable for the remainder of Trevor’s vacation. The couple saw Broadway shows, went out for drinks, shopped, and even cooked dinner in Andrew’s apartment. But the holiday came to an end and Trevor returned to Texas; their fate uncertain. A few short months later, Trevor landed a job (thanks, Yasmin!) and moved to NYC. They quickly reconnected and the rest is history.
