Question

When do I need to R S V P ?

Answer

RSVP no later than October 21st, 2024. (This is the last day before catering decisions need to be finalized)

Question

Can I Bring a Plus One?

Answer

Our ceremony venue has limited seating space, so we simply can’t fit all of our lovely guests and their families into the chapel. Guests of the ceremony are, therefore, by named invitation only (as indicated by name when you RSVP). Please know that we CAN and would LOVE for our guests to bring their family/plus one to join us for a beautiful evening reception dinner. You can indicate your additional reception guest(s) when you RSVP for the reception in the “optional responses” section. Thank you so much for understanding! (Also see FAQ- "Are my Children Invited to the Wedding?)

Question

Are My Children Invited to the Wedding?

Answer

As much as we'd love to invite all of your children to both the ceremony and the reception, we simply can’t accommodate everyone’s families into the chapel for the ceremony due to the limited seating. We ask guests to bring only those named by invitation to the ceremony, where each guests is indicated when you RSVP. However, we CAN and would LOVE for our guests to bring their children to join us for the reception dinner. Please indicate your children and/or additional guest when you RSVP for the reception in the “optional responses” section. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire is semi-formal or dressy casual. We recommend darker, more formal colors to compliment the fall season. Attire suggestions include: ~ below-the-knee dresses or slip dresses, ~ a dressy skirt and top, ~ an elegant pantsuit (styled with heels, nice wedges, or formal flats), ~ dress shirt and slacks (or non-ripped jeans) with the option to wear a vest or tie

Question

What will the Weather be like?

Answer

Early November weather in Portland, Oregon is usually in the 40s and 50s during the day, with cooler temperatures at night. There is a high likelihood of gentle rain and mist (historical average 0.09 inches). We recommend packing warm layers and a rain-proof jacket.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will start at 4PM. Guests are asked to arrive no earlier that 3:40PM as photography sessions will take place in and around the chapel before the ceremony. Guests and their families may begin arriving at the Reception immediately following the ceremony. You can expect the newlyweds to arrive and welcome their guests at 5:30-5:45PM.

Question

Where do I sit at the Ceremony?

Answer

You can fill in an empty seat on either side of the aisle. Note: If you sit along the aisle you might be pictured in some of the wedding photos.

Question

Can I take photos/videos during the Ceremony?

Answer

We want you to be in the moment with us, not stuck in camera settings, trying to get the shot or blocking another guest's view! We have hired a wonderful photographer who will be capturing the ceremony. Guests are NOT allowed to take photos DURING the ceremony in order for the photographer to provide their best work. Please silence all electronic devices before entering the chapel.

Question

Can I share about your wedding on my social media?

Answer

While we ask that guests do not take videos or photos at the ceremony, we encourage you to take as many photos and videos as you'd like during the reception. Also if you do share photos or reviews of the vendors or otherwise, please use our wedding hashtag (#SheiLovesTrent)

Question

Where do I sit at the Reception?

Answer

We do not have a seating chart. Please find an open chair at any table.

Question

When and What's for Dinner?

Answer

We are hosting a buffet-style wedding reception immediately following the ceremony at Christ Church (approximately 5:30PM). This style allows our guests the freedom to make their own plates according to their own preferences. You can indicate any preferences or dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

Question

Why are there no Physical Gifts on the Registry?

Answer

We have acquired many essentials over the years so we kindly ask for your understanding as we opt for a non-traditional approach to our wedding registry. In lieu of physical gifts, we are focusing on our dreams and goals for the next chapter of our lives. Your generous donations and gift contributions will help us build a solid foundation for our future together. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we can't wait to celebrate this special day with you. Thank you for being a part of our love story.

Question

Will your Wedding be Indoors or Outdoors?

Answer

We will be hosting both the ceremony and reception indoors and each venue will have appropriate heating.

Question

Where should I Stay?

Answer

For those traveling from out of town, we have listed a few lodging options. Check out the Travel section on this website. Unfortunately, there are not many hotels in the immediate area where the wedding is hosted.

Question

Will you be Serving Alcohol?

Answer

We have opted for an alcohol-free wedding. Beverage options will include a mix of sodas, juices, teas, and waters.

Question

When Should Guests Say Good-Bye?

Answer

The reception events will end about 8:00 PM when guests officially send-off the Newlyweds. (This way there will be enough time to restore the venue to its normal Sunday service function)
