In the summer of 2016 while Chris was out of town, he received an email from work that a new employee named Bailey was hired. Chris reached out to another co-worker with the Atlanta Gladiators hockey team and asked who this ‘Bailey’ person was and the co-worker replied “I think you’ll like her”. If only he knew how true of a statement that was. When Chris arrived back in town, he went to meet the new girl to say hi but turned right around when he saw how gorgeous she was. He finally got the courage to go say hello and introduce himself but all that came out was a nervous, “umm hi I’m Trefty”. Weeks went by and every day Chris would find reasons to leave his office to walk past her desk, chest puffed out and hair in perfect place. Finally, about a month into the season, Chris got the confidence to shoot his shot. His best plan was to send a flirty email or two to test the waters… shockingly she fell for it and his very cheesy jokes. For their first date, Chris made Bailey wake up at 7am for a workout at the gym/ spin class. Undenounced to Bailey, Chris got to the gym an hour earlier and did about 1,000 arm curls to make his arms look as big as possible. After working out they went to lunch smelly and tired. They connected in a way neither of them had ever done before. After that day they were almost inseparable. On January 10th, 2017 Chris asked Bailey to be his girlfriend with a big Reese’s heart and a dozen roses. Now nearly six years later, 20 MLB stadiums, trips all over North America, multiple career changes and challenges, four different apartments, a cross-country move, thousands of workouts, a half-marathon together, and countless date nights, Chris asked Bailey to be his wife at sunset on the beach in Miami-their favorite place. She said yes with happy tears in her eyes!
