The birthplace of America! If you want to take in some history while in Philadelphia, check out Independence Hall. It is free to visit but the line to see the Liberty Bell gets VERY long at times. The back of the building (at Chestnut Street) is glass, so you can get a sneak peak from the street!
Are you a fan of Rocky like Erik? Or maybe just looking to check out some art? Plan a visit to the Philadelphia Art Museum! Here you can see the Rocky statue, run up the stairs, and even head inside. The arms and armor gallery is Tracey’s favorite.
A visit to the Magic Gardens offers a colorful, surreal escape from everyday life. Spanning half a block, the museum includes an immersive outdoor art installation and indoor galleries. The artist, Zagar, created the space using nontraditional materials such as folk art statues, found objects, bicycle wheels, colorful glass bottles, hand-made tiles, and thousands of glittering mirrors. Tracey loves to take out of town visitors here for a special experience!
Visit one of the greatest public markets in the country! You can enjoy eating virtually every type of cuisine, from sublime soul food and exquisite Asian and Middle Eastern dishes to authentic Philly Cheesesteaks and traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare — all available from largely family-run stands. The pretzels and donuts are to die for!
A wonderful park that features colorful hammocks, floating gardens, beautiful lights, refreshing craft beer and food from popular Philly restaurant. The perfect place to spend some leisurely hours in the city.
Get your picture with the iconic LOVE statue! It's just across the street from City Hall, and you'll also get a great view of the Art Museum down the Ben Franklin Parkway! Why not celebrate a weekend all about love by visiting this site?
The Philadelphia Zoo is considered the first "true" zoo in the United States. It's home to nearly 1,300 animals, many rare and endangered. This particular zoo is unique because of it's system called Zoo360, which is a travel and exploration system for the animals to get around, swinging or walking right above visitors! Erik and Tracey have gone on a few dates here!
