Tracey and Darryl met on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise in April 2017. Darryl made himself a promise to take more pictures that year to chronicle his experience because on past cruises he had taken very few. The Sneaker Ball, where people dressed up and wore their favorite sneakers. This was one of Darryl's favorite theme nights so he was taking pictures with everyone, some group photos and a few solos. He was making his way around the ship and as he approached the casino bar area, he saw Tracey. Darryl asked Tracey and her niece, Monique, to take a picture with him and they happily obliged. Monique stood behind Darryl, chin on his shoulder and Tracey leaned in front of him, face on his chest. Darryl took the picture, said thank you and went about his way... A few days later the cruise ported in Honduras. While waiting for the annual light-skinned vs dark-skinned water gun battle, Darryl was getting a little video footage of the festivities, people, music and dancing. He panned the crowd and saw someone in a black and yellow scuba-like suit dancing in her own little space and singing "I Like It," by Debarge. Tracey was in her zone and completely unbothered and that alone made Darryl smile. For some reason he kept finding her in a sea of hundreds of people on the beach. Approximately a week after returning home from the cruise, Darryl finally got a chance to look at his video footage and photos. He came across the beach video of Tracey dancing and singing as well as the photo they'd taken together. It was his favorite picture from hundreds taken on the cruise. Darryl realized that he and Tracey were in the same Facebook group and sent the photo to her in Messenger. He simply wrote, "One of the best pictures of the cruise, hands down!" Tracey responded, "Nice!" She eventually admitted that she didnt even remember taking the picture...lol! They exchanged texts for a few hours and then again later that evening. They never stopped communicating. Although they lived in different states, they never felt distant. In 2020, after numerous flights to visit one another, Darryl followed his heart and made the courageous decision to move from Baltimore to Chicago. They've traveled around the world together and their next stop is Cancun because on June 18, 2023, Ms. "I Like It" will become Mrs. Pugh...and They Love It! ❤️
