A Rich Love Story...

Toyia and Terry crossed paths as two athletes in late 2011 at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, MI. Toyia was visiting Cass rehearsing for an upcoming performance with her dance team and Terry was just finishing football practice. Following a brief introduction, the chemistry was undeniable. After a few movie and dinner dates, it became clear they were meant to be more than just friends and made it official on February 14th 2012. Toyia and Terry have been growing together ever since.

On August 7th, 2020, it was a typical Friday evening in the midst of the pandemic, or so Toyia thought. Weekends for the couple usually meant a series of date nights and fun activities. This particular date night, which is also the birthday of Terry's late mother Rosie, prove to be life-changing. Terry gave Toyia a specific time to be ready but did not reveal where they were going. As they were driving, Toyia eventually noticed they were heading in the direction of one of her favorite restaurants called "It’s a Matter of Taste". Upon entering the restaurant's patio off the lake, the couple was greeted by immediate family and close friends, catching Toyia totally by surprise. Terry proposed to his high school sweetheart just shy of the sunset.
