We met during Brittany's family vacation to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Brittany and her family had booked an alligator trip in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve and Joey was the boat captain. At one point before the tour, Brittany had told her sister, Autumn, that the tour guide was super cute. The whole hour-long tour, Joey and Brittany chatted, and Brittany even said she loved the outdoors. If you know Brittany, you know how untrue that statement actually is. After the boat tour, Brittany made a decision to add Joey on Facebook and minutes later, Joey accepted. Brittany messaged Joey and asked him what the best place to play mini golf was. That night, we both met on the beach to hang out and the rest is history...

Joey proposed to Brittany under the oak tree at Coligny Beach, the exact spot where they hung out on that night in June of 2018. Brittany's family was there to witness such a special occasion. Joey had planned to have Brittany's brother-in-law, Alex record, but act like he was taking a picture. Joey started off by saying how we had met almost 5 years ago and hung out at that exact same spot and then was interrupted when Brittany said come on, Alex is trying to take a picture. Joey got nervous and lost his train of thought and what he was trying to say, so he got down on one knee and popped the question!
