Jay and I met at a friend’s birthday party. We talked all night and ended up exchanging numbers. One day, he invited me over for a Fast & Furious marathon and we decided to cook some homemade chicken fettuccine alfredo. Not too long after [on July 11th, 2014], he asked me to be his girlfriend and I excitedly said “yes!”
Kim and I had plans to visit my family in May of 2020. With that in mind, it came to me that it would be such a splendid time to propose on the beautiful island of Maui. I called my dad, told him my plan, and he was instantly onboard with the idea. Little did we know, the world had other plans. It may have not been my original plan, but I decided to propose in Anchorage. On April 22nd, we went on a walk to the Campbell Park Bridge and I proposed. While I was on one knee, expressing my love, she started crying. As I popped the question, she wiped her tears and happily said "yes!"
