African Mission Healthcare/Dr. Tom Catena - Dr. Catena is a missionary family physician and surgeon who has been serving in the Nuba Mountains region of Sudan since 2008. He serves as the only surgeon at the only referral hospital for a catchment area of ~1 million people. His work has been featured in the NYT here: https://tinyurl.com/3j4jsf7s 2. Suvita - Suvita is a non-profit that uses SMS reminders and local immunization ambassadors to increase childhood vaccine uptake in rural India. Their methods are based on several RCTs, summarized here: https://tinyurl.com/y8h9bfys 3. The Animal Pad - The Animal Pad is an non-profit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego. We adopted our sweet girl Lana from them in March 2024.
