Little did i know that a swipe right would lead to this day. I was just browsing the dating site, when i came across Carl's pictures. I took a chance and said hi. He answered right back and we started talking. Conversation went really well and we talked for hours. He asked me to go to breakfast the next morning. I accepted thinking that this was different but what the heck. A no pressure date! We met at Bob Evans and hit it off right from the start. Conversation flowed and he made me feel very comfortable. That date led to our breakfast date every weekend for the last 2 years. I found him charming, handsome, and caring. We started spending the weekends together and eventually met each others children. Everything came easy to us, we laugh constantly, we are on the same page with what we want in life and with raising our kids. We enjoy the same things, whether its taking long rides on the Harley, having a Sunday fun day with kids, hanging with friends, listening to music or having late night talks in the garage. Our relationship comes easy to both of us. We challenge each other, make each other laugh, and support each other. We are raising 3 awesome kids and creating memories with them. We are so excited to get to spend the rest of lives together.
Our friends Chuck and Meagan asked us to join them on a weekend trip to Hocking Hills. (Carl had planned on proposing to me this weekend, I was not aware) We were supposed to meet my son John and Amanda and the kids there at some time since they were planning a trip there also that weekend. We just arrived and met the Porters for an afternoon of hiking. We started at Old mans cave and falls. As we arrived at the falls, we saw John and Amanda and the kids there. This is when Carl felt it was the perfect place and time to propose. A while later, he had called me over to take a picture with him in front of the falls. Meagan happened to be standing there and he gave her his phone to take the picture. We took the picture and he ended up getting down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! So glad that Meagan was phone savvy and was able to video the moment for us, since he didn't warn anyone that this was going to happen so soon. I was very surprised and happily accepted.
